The tempering line, in numbers
Golden Glass tempers glass on a forced-convection furnace with a 6,000 × 2,600 mm bed, in thicknesses from 4 to 19 mm, at its Al Kharj Road plant in Riyadh. Clear and coated float from Guardian, Saint-Gobain, and AGC Obeikan — including SunGuard and ClimaGuard coatings — is tempered to EN 12150 (fully tempered), EN 1863 (heat-strengthened), and ASTM C1048.

Both run on the same furnace and the same tempering quality plan. The furnace cycle sets the surface compression; the standard names the product.
EN 12150 · ASTM C1048 Kind FT
Fully tempered (FT)
Surface compression of 69 MPa or more; SGCC-certified. A safety glass that breaks into small, blunt fragments — balustrades, doors, partitions, shopfronts, and facade panels where safety glazing is specified.
EN 1863 · ASTM C1048 Kind HS
Heat-strengthened (HS)
Surface compression of 24–52 MPa. Not a safety glass: it resists thermal stress and wind load in facade and spandrel panels where a safety-glass fragmentation pattern is not required.

A tempered panel is only as good as its test record. Each batch is produced to the tempering quality plan — EN 12150 for fully tempered, EN 1863 for heat-strengthened — and documented before dispatch, the inspection reports your consultant will ask for.
