Certifications held by the factory

Guardian checks the factories that process its coated glass, and certifies the ones that process it to Guardian’s published guidelines. This factory holds that certification: we process SunGuard as a Guardian-certified fabricator, certificate HA220726, listed in Guardian’s fabricator locator.

The scope is SunGuard SN, DS and HP, plus ClimaGuard coatings, at 4, 6 and 8 mm: mechanical processing, heat treatment, and insulated-glass assembly. Coated glass keeps its maker’s warranty only when it is processed to those guidelines; that is what certification attests. The certificate is renewed annually.

The Safety Glazing Certification Council certifies tempered safety glass on representative samples of production, to the North American safety-glazing standards, ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201, with the Canadian CAN/CGSB 12.1. Our tempering is SGCC-certified, and that is what lets our glass carry the SGCC label.

Certification in the SGCC program is subject to semi-annual renewal: the certificate renews twice a year.

ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems. ISO writes the standard; an accredited certification body audits against it. Our system is certified by Americo Quality Standards Registech, a UAF-accredited body, with the scope “manufacture and sale of architectural glass products”.

The certificate runs on a three-year cycle, with a surveillance audit every year in between.

The Insulating Glass Certification Council, with the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance, certifies insulating glass units to ASTM E2190, the standard for seal durability, with the program’s separate gas-content certification, as filled and after weathering. Our IGU assembly is certified under that program on certificate #6330, with renewal in progress.
